Programs Overview:

All of our programs are structured around our three learning pillars: exploring what it means to be a young global citizen, deepening understanding of our greatest global challenges, and building skills to be a bold and visionary changemaker. Our learning is hands-on, through site visits, small-group discussions, projects, and applied activities. We place a premium on peer-to-peer learning, and many of our speakers are youth leaders and experts. Read more about our curriculum here and check out past speakers here.

More on the Washington, DC Programs.
Our flagship Washington, DC programs are based at American University. We travel frequently to downtown Washington DC to meet with experts and policymakers, visit Capitol Hill and offices of our US representatives, and explore the best that this vibrant city has to offer in the summertime! Click here to find out more about our Washington DC programs.

More on the America at 250 / July 4 Extension.
The extension offers participants more time in Washington, DC, to visit universities on July 3 and experience July 4 in Washington, DC! Click here to find out more about the America at 250 weekend.

More on the ReGen Youth Summit.
Through inspiring speakers, interactive workshops, and collaborative sessions based on AMP’s Regen Framework, participants will gain practical skills they can apply at the personal, interpersonal, and community levels to: restore trust, increase youth participation, strengthen media integrity, promote accountability, protect the environment, and better understand our shared history. Click here for more info on the ReGen Summit.

More on Global Scholar: Atlanta and Montgomery, AL.
This extraordinary experience is based at Emory University, with travel to Montgomery, AL. We begin at Emory University, where we will lay the foundation for our experience and meet youth and social change leaders in Atlanta. We then travel to Montgomery, where we will visit the Legacy Museum and the National Civil Rights Memorial, internationally-recognized museums and educational centers spotlighting work around civil rights in the US. Our workshops will focus on ethical leadership and how to incorporate these lessons into our work as changemakers. We then return to Atlanta for a day of wrap-up workshops and next steps, before Scholars depart. Read more about the program here.

More on Global Scholar: Virtual.
Our popular virtual program is back, offering an opportunity for Scholars to connect with leaders from around the globe, and learn from experts on the ground leading change on our greatest challenges. Scholars will meet international leaders working on some of the most urgent challenges of our time, participate in our popular Action Lab leadership workshops, and work with peers to draft a project or campaign. They also have the option to join the State of Global Youth Report research team. This is a great option for Scholars who can’t travel to DC or the US, and/or have other summer obligations preventing them from doing an in-person program. Click here for more information about the virtual program.

OUR FEE STRUCTURE

We are one of the longest-running and most affordable programs of our kind. We are a non-profit organization with the mission of supporting rising young global leaders, not a company seeking to extract excessive costs from students and their families.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We work hard to keep costs low and to provide a valuable program that is priced well below our competitors. If you cancel within 30 days of the start date of your Global Scholar session, you won’t receive a refund. If you cancel within 60 days but more than 30 days to the start date of your Global Scholar, you will receive a refund of 50% of the program fee. If you cancel more than 60 days before the start of your program, you will receive a full refund minus a $20 cancellation fee (imposed by our application processing system). If we are forced to cancel in-person programming due to public health or other requirements, any student who has been accepted to an in-person program is welcome to switch to a virtual session, or receive a full refund of any fees paid.Space in our programs is extremely limited, and we have to reserve student housing and vendors well in advance. In addition, we are beholden to the cancellation policies of partners like the universities. As a result, our ability to provide refunds is limited strictly to these timetables. We understand that few can afford to pay for a program that they can’t attend, and we strongly encourage you to review our refund policy carefully when making plans.
