Build skills to be a bold and visionary global leader.

Global Scholar Session 3. Dates announced 12/1!

About The Program

If you’re fired up about global challenges from climate change to COVID-19 to the fight for racial justice, and committed to getting involved, this is the program for you. Global Scholars are eager to explore, dig deep, and ask tough questions. They know the many issues we face are reflective of complex economic, political and social systems that need to be challenged. And Global Scholars don’t sit on the sidelines and wait for change to happen. They’re committed to exploring their role and power to be part of the solution. Global Scholars are dreamers, builders, and doers. They know it’s up to us to pursue, design and demand our shared future.

Summer 2022 Virtual Program Dates:

Session 3: July 5-16, 2022. We begin with our virtual, global Power Up event from Tuesday July 5 – Thursday July 7. The virtual cohort then continues meeting virtually through Friday July 8, breaks for the weekend, then resumes on Monday July 11 – Saturday July 16.  The final Saturday’s program consists of final presentations and other closing activities.

Who is this program for?

This program is for rising 9th-12th graders who are curious, bold, and visionary. You do not need any particular prior experience or coursework; the biggest thing we look for is curiosity and eagerness to explore urgent global challenges and become changemakers.

Where will this program take place?

Online! We have been running very engaging and impactful virtual programs for many years.

All of our programs kick off with the three day virtual Power Up, bringing together youth leaders and experts from around the globe to jump start our thinking around the global system, change making, and the power of youth.

The group then continues their journey online, for another 7 days of live conversations, powerful workshops, small group bonding, and social events. Scholars joining the virtual program sign up for either a 9am-3pm ET or 12pm-6pm ET track. Every day begins with a group meeting, followed by an issue seminar with a global expert and/or a training workshop. Most days Scholars also meet with their breakout group of 6-9 students, led by one of our skilled facilitators. While Scholars might have the occasional evening reflection assignment, more often they are joining virtual social events hosted by our alumni. Last year’s events included virtual dance party, quiz night, campfire, and more.

We also know this has been an incredibly difficult year for many families financially. We are committed to ensuring as many students as possible can benefit from this life-changing experience. The cost of this program is $1330-$1840, however we have a “pay what you can” model that makes this valuable experience as accessible as possible for families. Please review suggested fees below. All fees can be made via our payment page here.

  • Tier 1 fees: These reflect our real cost for running the program. We suggest this rate if your net family income is over $150,000 annually.
  • Tier 2 fees: This is a discounted rate appropriate for families earning less than $149,999 net annually.
  • Tier 3 fees: If your family earns below $65,000 annually and you are unable to pay the Tier 2 fee, we invite you to apply for one of our Global Scholarships, which provide partial or full tuition support for qualified applicants.

In 2021, 50% of the class received need-based partial scholarships to attend the program.
