Summer 2023 Virtual Program Dates:
Session 3: June 26-July 1, 2023. We begin with our virtual, global Power Up event on June 26-27. The virtual cohort then continues meeting virtually through Saturday, July 1. Throughout the experience Scholars will connect with youth from around the world, including those in our Washington, D.C. program, for special assignments and projects.
Who is this program for?
This program is for rising 9th-12th graders who are curious, bold, and visionary. You do not need any particular prior experience or coursework; the biggest thing we look for is curiosity and eagerness to explore urgent global challenges and become changemakers.
Where will this program take place?
Online! We have been running very engaging and impactful virtual programs for many years.
All of our programs kick off with the virtual Power Up, bringing together youth leaders and experts from around the globe to jump start our thinking around the global system, change making, and the power of youth.
The group then continues their journey online, with live conversations, powerful workshops, small group bonding, and social events. Scholars joining the virtual program sign up for either a 9am-3pm ET or 12pm-6pm ET track. Every day begins with a group meeting, followed by an issue seminar with a global expert and/or a training workshop. Most days Scholars also meet with their breakout group, led by one of our skilled facilitators. While Scholars might have the occasional evening reflection assignment, more often they are joining virtual social events hosted by our alumni. Last year’s events included virtual dance party, quiz night, campfire, and more.
