Global Scholar: Spring Forward

Join us this spring to amplify your global leadership skills.

Global Scholar prepares youth to be visionary leaders and bold changemakers around urgent global challenges.

The Time is Now

There is no time to waste in tackling the greatest challenges facing us today, from intolerance to climate change.

Youth Have Power

Youth are the bold and visionary leaders we need to transform our world. No other generation has the fresh perspective and untapped creativity of youth.

We Must Act

Every moment is an opportunity to expand our understanding, work with others to craft solutions, and engage our world. Everything matters.

Our world is facing unprecedented global challenges, from COVID-19 to climate change and more. Youth will inherit these challenges and need the skills and confidence to lead the way.

Join us this spring for a special Global Scholar short-course, bringing together youth in the US and Morocco!  Join us to:

  • Activate your sense of global citizenship. We will explore our place in the world and our need to work collaboratively to address shared and complex global challenges.
  • Explore urgent global issues in context. We will seek to understand how issues like climate change, COVID-19 and more fit into broader systems in our communities and world.
  • Build skills for social change. You will participate in workshops that prompt introspection about your place in the world, build interpersonal dynamics, and offer tools for leading change in your school or community.
  • Get started. You’ll use all you’ve learned to launch a project around an issue you care about.

This version of Global Scholar is generously funded by the Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and implemented by Partners of the Americas in partnership with the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Who is this program for?

This program is for 9th-12th graders who are curious about global citizenship, global issues, and building skills for social change. You do not need any particular prior experience or coursework; the biggest thing we look for is curiosity and eagerness to be part of the solution.

Where will this program take place?

This four week program will take place online every Sunday from April 11-May 2. Days will involve interactive workshops, followed by small group conversations and “challenges” (applied assignments). We’ll have social events, games, and some pre-recorded content too. We’ll be online for about 3 to 4 hours per day with lots of breaks. AMP Global Youth has been designing and delivering exciting online workshops for many years, and we’re incredibly good at what we do. You’re sure to connect, learn, and have lots of fun. After attending Global Scholar, I now feel better prepared to make a positive impact on not only my community but the world. Global Scholar was a really wonderful program that opened my eyes to different ways to make change and think about the systems that make up our world.

It’s such a great experience. If you are or are not into international affairs, you will go back home with such confidence, with all the knowledge you had acquired through this intense program. It will build your confidence in so many ways, such as public speaking, being inclusive, teamwork, support and so much!
