It is almost time for our Global Scholar summer workshops! Global Scholar equips youth leaders to be bold and visionary change makers around urgent global challenges. Participants learn about global issues from experts, build tools to engage their peers and communities, and take the next steps in launching purposeful careers. Global Scholars learn with and from some of the brightest young minds working on these issues today.

Here’s the full summer 2022 line up:

Advancing Gender Justice

July 25-28. Virtual
Join us to explore how our greatest global challenges have a disproportionate impact on women and the LGBTQIA+ community, and build skills to lead the charge to demand a more just world for us all. We will explore framing concepts like human rights, feminism, and gender justice. We’ll then dive into three hallmark issues for the gender justice movement: workplace justice, reproductive rights, and access to education. We’ll cap it all off by building skills for mobilizing our peers and engaging leaders around issues we care about, and drafting a project you can launch in your school or community.

Exploring the Arts and Social Change

August 1-5. NYC (Non-residential). Wait List Only.
Explore key challenges facing us today, from climate change to immigration to racial justice, through an artistic lens. Through seminars with artists and visits to cultural institutions across NYC, you’ll learn first-hand how creative expression has fueled and reflected some of the biggest social movements we see today. We’ll then create content to uplift and inspire, guided by artists working to build a better world. *You do not need to be an artist to join this program.

NEW! Global Scholar Power Pack Clinics. 1-2 day clinics in July and August.

Workshops are appropriate for youth leaders ages 13-17, who are aspiring, new or experienced leaders in their school or community.

Designing a More Just World: From Vision to Reality. July 13-14. Virtual.
We’ll begin by unpacking the youth experience with COVID-19, and its impact on our generation. We then move into artistic visioning around the future of education, work, the economy, and the environment. The experience culminates with learning how to move big ideas from vision to reality. You’ll leave with concrete tools for visioning and launching a bold idea.

Connecting Global Youth for Global Change. July 28. Virtual.
Everything we do rests upon our ability to connect with and inspire others. This one-day workshop is an opportunity for youth leaders to build skills for recruiting, inspiring, and mobilizing friends and peers around issues you care about. We’ll review and practice strategies for facilitation, organizing, and team building. You’ll leave with concrete tips and tools to use in your work.

Launching Your Bold Idea for Big Impact. July 21-22. Virtual.
The best ideas will fall flat without the ability to plan, launch and manage the work. The Launch Workshop focuses on getting ideas off the ground in a way that’s effective, sustainable, and impactful. You’ll leave with concrete tools for strategic planning, evaluation, and fundraising.
All of our summer program participants are eligible to apply for small grant funding to support their work back home, and invited to join ongoing training and coaching opportunities throughout the school year.
